The Poludnig (1.999m), a majestic mountain in the Carnic Alps that stands almost two thousand meters high, offers an awe-inspiring view from its summit. To the northwest, the majestic Großglockner dominates the horizon, while the High Tauern range stands tall to the north. To the south and southeast, the Julian Alps in Slovenia and Italy stretch out into the distance, creating a breathtaking landscape.
While the western Carnic Alps appear rugged and rocky, the eastern part, boasts a more gentle and picturesque terrain.
A unique experience awaits you by crossing the distinctive Poludnig summit. This journey is complemented by a visit to three remarkable (and rare in this form) alpine villages. A hearty snack and a selection of cheeses are included in the package.
These „Carnic Alpine Villages“ hold a rich history. For instance, the Egger Alm has been cultivated since 1865, showcasing the region’s agricultural heritage.
